“The Reason Why Dinosaurs went extinct”

A short storyboard I did based off of Gary Larson’s one page comic “The real reason why dinosaurs went extinct.”

I thought the concept of dinosaurs smoking was pretty silly and felt the idea would be fun to work with.

Coked Fish

This is a story I made for my storyboarding class at American River College. The assignment was to create a storyboard using a news article that reported cocaine in the river banks, which began to affect the local salmon in the water. I thought it would be interesting to create a story where we get the salmon’s point of view of the crazy occurrence in a more comedic format.

Out of all the storyboards I have done to this day, this was the one I enjoyed the most!

Concept Art

It was super fun thinking about their designs! I was contemplating making them humans instead since that’s what is easiest to draw for me, and I only had a limited amount of time, but I felt it would take away from the original concept. In the end, I decided to keep it simple, and I definitely made the right choice!

I learned a lot working on this and even was able to break out and feel confident to try new things!

The Boy and The Goat

A short storyboard based on Aesop’s Fables “The Boy and the Goat.” It was an interesting experience planning out the story based on the narration.

Cover done fully traditional with Prismacolor pencils and ink

KRAMPUS #1 Assistant is a short comic I made in my time at American River College. The requirement for it was that we were able to have free creative liberty as long as it still stayed true to the original story, and must be maximum of five pages. We had two weeks and had the options for traditional or digital.

I decided to go fully traditional to challenge myself, as I enjoy working digitally the most and found the process to be very rewarding.

I really enjoyed doing research for this project as I am used to doing more modern works. Drawing out the kind of environment they would be in helped me get a good grasp of the scene.
